In late October, students from the HSE School of Business Informatics organised the second Major League Hacking (MLH) hackathon hosted in Moscow. The participants of the event, which include students and alumni of Russian and foreign universities, developed IT solutions for Russian companies.

Major League Hacking (MLH) holds its events around the world, but this year is the first time MLH Local Hack Day is taking place in Russia thanks to the initiative of students from the Higher School of Economics. Participants of the hackathon developed IT solutions for some of Russia’s largest companies.
Two teams from the Faculty of Business and Management took four nominations in the HackUPC hackathon, held in Barcelona by Polytechnic University of Catalonia (UPC).
Ivan Kamakin, the 2nd year student of the School of Business Informatics, and the faculty analyst Olesya Sinitsina as part of the team Dolphin Blockchain Itelligence (among other participants are Alexander Nikolaev, Andrey Varnavskiy, Sergey Vivier, Pavel Sidorov and Alexander Garkusha) became the winners of the hackathon in blockchain-projects development.
A five-day Internet-Entrepreneurship School was held at the Russian Engineering Festival. During the five days of the School, the participants had to develop and realize their startup projects.
10th International Student Conference on Contemporary Problems and Trends in Logistics and Supply Chain Management Development was held in School of Logistics on April 27-28, 2016. The conference was attended by the bachelors, masters and postgraduate students, representatives of the School of logistics of HSE and other leading universities of Russia and Germany, as well as CIS countries. The total number of participants exceeded 200 people.
On December, 11 and 18 a group of students from the School of logistics together with the senior teachers A. B. Vinogradov and T. V. Levina visited Europe's largest plant of the company "PepsiCo" in the SEZ "Sherrizone" (Moscow region).
Team of students from the master’s programme in Information Security Management took third place in theRussian Information Security Club (RISC), an information security case competition.
