The all-Russia competition, a project of the Russia — Land of Opportunities presidential platform, saw the students compete with other teams of young contestants. The team led by Alexander Aksyutin, a master’s student of the HSE Graduate School of Business, received a grant of 1.4 million Russian rubles, which the team plans to spend on a social project to promote tourism in Voronezh Oblast.

The annual HSE Student Research Paper Competition (SRPC) helps young researchers try their hand in a real academic competition, where leading experts and professionals from HSE University assess their research papers. This year, participation will be open from September 1 to October 15.
The Leaders of Russia competition is the flagship project of the Russia — Land of Opportunity presidential platform. This year, 15,420 people signed up for the Student category of the competition, 127 of whom made it to the finals and 54 were named winners.
In the contest organized by AIM2Flourish, students from various countries tell stories about companies that promote the 17 UN Sustainable Development Goals. HSE students won in the global goals of ‘Quality Education’ and ‘Partnerships for the Goals’ with cases of Kaspersky and VimpelCom PJSC (Beeline brand), respectively. They have become the first Russian representatives to earn these prestigious awards.
The AMC Makeathon is an annual makeathon from the American Center in Moscow (AMC). This year it was held online and focused on ecology, environmental literacy, and the green economy. First and second places went to student teams from HSE University. The News Service talked to representatives of the teams about the solutions they came up with.
On May 20, first-year master’s students in the Marketing: Digital Technologies and Marketing Communications programme defended their projects. The event was the final stage of the first joint project between Effie Russia and theHSE Graduate School of Business (GSB). The students tackled cases involving social and environmental problems.
On May 12, the HSE Graduate School of Business hosted the CIMA Emerging Leaders Competition, an international case championship. The competition is aimed at helping students advance their skills in business process modelling and business forecasting. A team from Southern Federal University (SFU) took first place, and teams from HSE University came in second and third.
Members of the ‘HSE Triathlon Team‘ project have organized an interview with Maria Shorets, Russian professional triathlete and participant of the 2016 Summer Olympics. ‘HSE Triathlon Team‘ project leader Egor Teplukhin and Maria Shorets discussed her impressive sports career and the ways to popularize triathlon among HSE students. Maria talked about the classic mistakes of the beginners in triathlon and gave advice to HSE students on how to avoid them.

In summer 2020 HSE launched a contest for creating project groups, through which our university supports interesting and useful initiatives of students. Despite the fact that the Contest is being held at HSE for the first time, 36 applications were received for the creation of project groups of students from the HSE Graduate School of Business, and 28 of which were approved by the Commission on Educational Initiatives.
