This year, the Expert Analytical Centre’s ranking of Russian entrepreneurial universities evaluated 46 universities, 18 of which are participants of Russia’s 5-100 Project. In the ranking, HSE, together with Moscow State University and St. Petersburg State University, took 2nd-4th places, while MIPT ranked first. The ranking’s methodology places special emphasis on startups launched by university graduates, the number of founding graduates at these companies, and the amount of investments these projects have received.

Students of the Master's programme in ‘Retail Management’ of the Graduate School of Business are the first Russians to win the Future Retail Challenge, an international competition in which national student teams compete. The competition is held as part of the World Retail Congress, which has been held since 2007. The winners were announced at the World Retail Awards.
HSE University continues to climb the Moscow international university ranking, The Three University Missions (MosIUR), this year taking 120th place. The ranking became the most representative in the world this year – for the first time, the number of ranked universities reached 1,500.
HSE University took 31st place in the QS Top 50 Under 50 Ranking, climbing seven places, even in the face of the growing competition in the higher tier of this ranking.
One of the most prestigious awards in the field of digital technology, the Runet Prize, was conferred in Moscow. HSE University was awarded in the category ‘Education and Personnel’.
HSE University has taken the first place in the ranking of entrepreneurial universities and business schools by Expert Analysis Centre. The ranking’s evaluation criteria include startups that were launched by alumni of economics or business programmes.
A team of the HSE Faculty of Business & Management will take part in the Final Round of the IIBD 2019 International Case Competition, organized by the HKBU School of Business. The final will be held at Hong Kong Baptist University.
On November 10-11, the finals of the Moscow Capture the Flag interuniversity student competition in information security (M*CTF) took place in Russia. The winning team was Shadow Servants, which included students from the HSE Faculty of Computer Science and MIEM. This is the third year in a row that Shadow Servants has won M*CTF. Their next step is the 2018 Russian CTF Cup, which will take place between November 30 and December 1 at the Skolkovo Innovation Centre.
