Workshop on designing an effective online course for GSB faculty
On 1 October, an online workshop for faculty members and staff of the HSE University Graduate School of Business on "Developing Effective Online Courses: Principles, Tools and Roles" was held by GSB teachers who had undergone intensive training on the EFMD "Online Teaching Academy: Moving beyond remote teaching to master all aspects of online education" in spring 2021. The online workshop was organized with the support of the GSB Centre for Learning Methodologies and Quality Assurance.
The workshop was led by Associate Professor Olga Mondrus, Associate Professor Elena Senatorova, Associate Professor, Programme Academic Supervisor of the Marketing Management online Master's programme Elena Panteleeva and Assistant Professor Anja Tekic. In May this year, colleagues successfully completed the EFMD professional development programme "Online Teaching Academy: Moving beyond remote teaching to master all aspects of online education" and decided to share their knowledge, experience and vision for building effective online courses within the "FULL ONLINE: GSB Best Practices" initiative.
The workshop covered the following issues: the basic principles of student learning in an online environment; the necessary resources to create and implement an effective online course; OSCAR's high quality online course design methodology; the challenges faced by online course developers; examples of EFMD participants' projects.
There was interaction between all the participants throughout the workshop, and during the wrap-up there was a real lively discussion on a range of issues related to the development of online education and the construction of effective online courses.
The EFMD "Online Teaching Academy: Moving beyond remote teaching to master all aspects of online education" is a certified professional development programme that provides participants with the theoretical and practical tools required to develop effective online or blended learning based on rational principles, best practices and trends.
