The all-Russia competition, a project of the Russia — Land of Opportunities presidential platform, saw the students compete with other teams of young contestants. The team led by Alexander Aksyutin, a master’s student of the HSE Graduate School of Business, received a grant of 1.4 million Russian rubles, which the team plans to spend on a social project to promote tourism in Voronezh Oblast.
For the second year in a row, five HSE University master’s programmes have appeared in the QS Business Masters ranking. Moreover, the programmes in International Business and Financial Economics have improved their positions in the Top 100 of the ranking.
In the contest organized by AIM2Flourish, students from various countries tell stories about companies that promote the 17 UN Sustainable Development Goals. HSE students won in the global goals of ‘Quality Education’ and ‘Partnerships for the Goals’ with cases of Kaspersky and VimpelCom PJSC (Beeline brand), respectively. The AMC Makeathon is an annual makeathon from the American Center in Moscow (AMC). This year it was held online and focused on ecology, environmental literacy, and the green economy. On May 20, first-year master’s students in the Marketing: Digital Technologies and Marketing Communications programme defended their projects. The event was the final stage of the first joint project between Effie Russia and theHSE Graduate School of Business (GSB). The students tackled cases involving social and environmental problems.

Students of the Master's programme in ‘Retail Management’ of the Graduate School of Business are the first Russians to win the Future Retail Challenge, an international competition in which national student teams compete. The competition is held as part of the World Retail Congress, which has been held since 2007. The winners were announced at the World Retail Awards.

Sangam Kumar Singh is currently finishing the second year of his Master of Science in Big Data Systems. After spending the first year at HSE Moscow, he has gone to the UK on a double degree track with Lancaster University. The Strategic Management in Logistics doudble-degree master’s programme, for which HSE has partnered up with Germany’s BBW University of Applied Sciences, received 10 out of a possible 11 points in the international training category of Germany’s Centre for Higher Education (CHE) ranking of master’s programmes.
