The annual conference was organised by the Academy of Management (AOM). The AOM Annual Meeting is the world's premier event for the academic community and the world's largest conference bringing together management scholars and practitioners. The AOM is the leading professional association of scholars dedicated to the creation and dissemination of knowledge about management and organisations. The Academy's primary mission is to advance the management profession by developing the science of management and promoting the professional growth of its members.

The Academy of Management Conference 2024 brought together more than 10,000 leading scholars and practitioners from more than 100 countries on one site in Chicago. Conference attendees had access to 2,000 face-to-face sessions in the format of symposia, classical papers, professional development workshops, and informal meetings spanning AOM's 26 disciplinary divisions and interest groups. Scholars from around the world presented cutting-edge research and best pedagogical practices under the general theme of “Innovating for the Future: policy, purpose and organisations”. The best sessions in each disciplinary division were honoured with awards.

The GSB expert Ekaterina Ivanova took an active part in the conference and co-organised the professional development workshop “AI is Innovation: Now Educators Need to Focus on the Human-ness”. During this interactive session, held as a gallery walk in a Viennese café, educators from Indonesia, Philippines, Ghana, Georgia, USA, Kazakhstan, Russia and Germany shared their experiences and stories of how they develop students' “humanity” in different contexts in the face of new challenges from digital technologies. The Professional Development Workshop was awarded a diploma for the disciplinary unit “Management, Spirituality and Religion’ as ‘Best Professional Development Workshop”.

“For all of us, this award was a pleasant surprise. The jury was impressed by the theme we chose and the diversity of the workshop team. We hope that next year at the ASM Annual Conference in Copenhagen, we will be able to continue the tradition of our professional development sessions with a focus on humanity, art and sustainability,” Ekaterina Ivanova said.

We congratulate our colleagues on the high international evaluation of innovative pedagogical practices and wish them new success!
