The HSE Graduate School of Business honoured the graduates of Bachelor's and Master's programmes-2024
In July, graduation ceremonies were held on the campus of the HSE Graduate School of Business. Diplomas were awarded to 546 bachelor's and 690 master's graduates, and 35 bachelors and 43 masters graduated with honours.
From the year 2024 onwards, the number of students graduating from Master's programmes exceeds the number of Bachelor's graduates. This reflects the GSB's emphasis on the development of post-bachelor programmes in its product portfolio, which are implemented by the GSB in both Russian and English, with the active participation of business partners. Fundamental knowledge is combined with a practice-oriented approach, while internships and mobility programmes give students the opportunity to gain versatile practical experience and the chance to enrich their portfolios with real cases to increase their competitiveness in the labour market.
In addition to educational documents, the graduates received gifts from the GSB partner companies: X5 Group, Alfa Bank, Polyus, Chernogolovka, VEB.RF, VK, Novatek, SBER, Positive Technologies and others. Top managers of the largest companies from the fields of retail, finance, cybersecurity, energy, consulting, and e-commerce, who worked with the students throughout their studies, warmly congratulated the young specialists.
Dmitry Knatko, Deputy Director of the HSE Graduate School of Business, also congratulated the graduates: “Today's graduates have become true members of the GSB professionals’ community. We are not saying goodbye and we are looking forward to new meetings at our open events this year!”
70-80 per cent of alumni keep in touch with the university, which allows to form a strong professional community within the walls of the HSE Graduate School of Business. The GSB creates opportunities for alumni to get involved in teaching and offers training programmes for continuing professional development in the concept of life-long learning. Today's graduates have joined the 26,000-strong community of professionals who have completed GSB degree programmes.
GSB pays special attention to the development and implementation of programmes that address the challenges of providing highly qualified specialists for priority areas of the economy. Master's degree programmes in various areas offer both fundamental knowledge, and also develop new competencies required by the leaders of the future who implement projects in the digital innovation environment.
“There is a generational shift in retailing right now. The new retail is technological, modern, dynamic, and it requires new competences. We decided to systematically and long-term invest in creating specialists with these competences for ourselves,” said Vladimir Salakhutdinov, First Deputy CEO of X5 Group.

“Obtaining a master's degree finalises a certain stage in the development of an individual professional trajectory. I am sure that the knowledge and tools from expert practitioners and the authoritative diploma of the GSB will help to build a successful career wherever you work,” said Ekaterina Pantyukhova, Executive Director for Sustainable Development at SBER.
As part of the programmes, students also studied strategic management, business informatics, e-commerce and finance, and interned at major companies. Many of them have already been offered jobs after their internships.
“During the graduation ceremony, it was a joy to see that almost all the co-students have already been employed: someone has founded their own startup, someone is employed and is actively growing in their career! The GSB was not just training with professors, it also involved us in a large community of smart, energised, responsible and interested people. This will certainly serve as a basis for further comprehensive development and networking. A huge thanks to myself, the university and my classmates for the great and valuable path that we have travelled together, supporting each other!” Elena Kim, a graduate of the GSB Bachelor's Business Informatics programme, shared her impressions.
“The graduation was organised perfectly, as befits the GSB: bright, great, beautiful, loud and funny. But the most important thing is the people around us who know how to create such an atmosphere. Thank you to the organisers and classmates for these emotions, it was unforgettable!” said Maria Zinchenko, a graduate of the GSB Bachelor's Business Management programme.
