Two New Research and Teaching Laboratories were Launched at GSB

Two New Research and Teaching Laboratories were Launched at GSB

Following the directive of HSE Rector Yaroslav Kuzminov, two research and teaching laboratories were set up within Graduate School of Business on April 1: Laboratory for Creativity Management headed by Sergey Filonovich and Laboratory for Strategies and Operations in International Business headed by Anna Veselova.

The new laboratories are two of nine winners of the project competition to create research and teaching laboratories within the faculties of the Higher School of Economics. Thus, Graduate School of Business currently has three research and teaching laboratories, including Laboratory for Network Organization, which has existed since 2010.

Laboratory for Strategies and Operations in International Business will study transformations of business models, strategies and structures of international companies in the conditions of the ‘new’ global economy. One of the main goals of the laboratory is to create a new platform for bachelor’s, master’s and doctoral students, GSB staff, Russian and international researchers, experts, and representatives of the business community so that they would interact and, thus, create and spread new knowledge in the field of international business.

In the next three years, the laboratory is planning to release a series of publications in Q1/Q2 academic journals, publish chapters in monographs, and participate in international research conferences. The research lab is also planning to prepare a series of cases to use in the teaching of bachelor’s, master’s and executive education programmes.

Laboratory for Creativity Management is planning to transfer management technologies from non-profit sectors to business organisations.

In the next three years, the team of the laboratory is planning to prepare a series of publications, participate in international research conferences, and release a series of cases devoted to the practices of creativity management in creative organisations for bachelor’s, master’s, and executive education programmes. The laboratory is also planning to hold a regular seminar on a topic related to the laboratory’s activity, record an online course on creativity management (an elective course for master’s students), and hold workshops on this topic.
