Open Day for Applicants of Bachelor’s Programmes will be Held Online for the First Time
Open Day for applicants of all HSE bachelor’s programmes will take place on February 20-21. University heads, faculties’ deans and programmes’ representatives will give speeches and talk to applicants. Visitors of the Open Day will gain information not only about Moscow campus but also about other HSE campuses. Vyacheslav Bashev, HSE vice rector, talks about special features of the new format in our article.
For the first time this year, Open Day will be fully held in online format. The reason for this is clear: the epidemiological restrictions have not been lifted yet. HSE students will study remotely until the end of March.
Almost all elements of Open Days are preserved in the online format; university heads will give their speeches on the stage of Cultural Centre Big Hall on Pokrovka. One major drawback of the online format is that applicants cannot actually visit the university, feel its atmosphere, see the classes and hallways, and talk to other applicants. General impression about a place where you want to study usually consists of small details and personal feelings, and sometimes they motivate applicants to choose a particular university or a faculty. Now, applicants can get a ‘taste of HSE’ in a quest of our virtual Hogwarts – HSE Minecraft.
When the epidemiological situation stabilizes, we will come back to the offline format of Open Days. However, we will keep broadcasting our Open Days online, because there are definitely benefits of such format: there is no restriction in number of visitors; people from other regions do not have to come to Moscow, all they need now – gadgets and the Internet; all broadcasts of our Open Days will be available online after the events for those who could not make it to the event or wants to rewatch some particular moments.
