Business Digital Transformation in Real Cases: Experience of Fabrizio Amarilli, Professor of The Polytechnic University of Milan, at GSB
During October and November, students of the bachelor’s programme Management and Digital Innovation at HSE Graduate School of Business took part in a distance training course 'Introduction to Management Information Systems and Digital Transformation', taught by Fabrizio Amarilli, a lecturer from the Polytechnic University of Milan.
During the classes, held as a part of the 'Introduction to Information Systems' course, Professor Amarilli talked about the information systems infrastructure and modern problems of cybersecurity, and briefly described the universal language for decision modelling in business – UML. There was a special lecture on different examples of business case-studies of the digital transformation. In addition to the lecture, Professor Amarilli presented an approach to evaluate digital transformation under the influence of certain technologies that students used in seminars to analyse companies such as Osram, Schindler and Michelin.
For more than 20 years, Fabrizio Amarilli has been involved in ICT evaluation, designing a roadmap for ICT development, implementing IT transformation initiatives, as well as auditing and dealing with change management. He advises companies such as Human Technopole (Life Sciences Research Centre), the COSTER group (aerosol sprayers and dispensing components for packaging and filling machines), Baltur (heating and cooling solutions), Arkimat, Fava, CIRFood, Enervit, and non-governmental organisations.Professor Amarilli has extensive experience: more than 10 years in developing, implementing, and coordinating research projects. Since 2014, he has been an expert at the European Commission on the Horizon2020, COST, and EUREKA Eurostars programmes. He regularly gives seminars and teaches courses on MBA programmes in management information systems and digital transformation. He also teaches courses on web/internet technologies, corporate architecture and digital strategies for Pirelli, Unicredit, IlSole24Ore, Banca d'Italia, CIRFood.
