Contemporary Management Research in Emerging Markets: New Challenges and Perspectives
On April 22, 2016 a PhD seminar on management ‘Contemporary Management Research in Emerging Markets: New Challenges and Perspectives’ was held at HSE as part of the XVII April International Academic Conference on Economic and Social Development. Thirty doctoral students from Russia and four doctoral students from the USA, Europe and the CIS countries took part in the event.
Wesley J. Johnston, Professor at the Georgia State University, Director of the Center for Business and Industrial Marketing at J. Mack Robinson College of Business, moderated the seminar.
The main purpose of the event was to develop contacts between Russian and foreign young researchers, interested in comparative management studies, as well as to raise the level of research in management. During the event the participants discussed academic and empirical research projects of doctoral students (16 students, including 14 doctoral students from Russia and 2 PhD students from other countries) during 4 sessions of the seminar; attended an honorary lecture by Wesley J. Johnston, Professor at the Georgia State University, a leading international researcher in management; discussed future cooperation between HSE and university’s leading international partners in research projects involving other HSE campuses (Saint-Petersburg and Nizhny Novgorod) and leading research and consulting companies.
