New Program for Executives and HR Professionals Launched at HSE Graduate School of Business

The Shabolovka campus of the HSE Graduate School of Business has welcomed the first participants of the new executive education program “HR 3.0: Human Capital Management.”

Representatives from major corporations such as Rostelecom, Lukoil-Uzbekistan, staffing companies including ANCOR, and others completed the first of five educational modules.

The HR 3.0 program was developed in response to current trends and challenges in the HR field, especially those brought on by labor shortages and rapid changes in the job market. As academic director Professor Alla Vuchkovich emphasized, companies today are being pushed to adapt and rethink traditional approaches to workforce management. For example, hiring practices now include not only targeting younger generations but also engaging retirees, women in production roles, and even individuals with criminal records.

“Russia, like the rest of the world, has gone through a pandemic that completely transformed the employer-employee relationship. We saw the rise of remote and distributed teams, followed by new challenges such as sanctions and the exit of foreign companies. This has forced businesses to revise their strategies and broaden the ‘candidate funnel’ to include recruitment channels that were once considered unconventional.”

The program is tailored for business leaders, senior executives, and experienced HR professionals who want to update their knowledge and master modern tools for tackling strategic challenges. The curriculum consists of five modules covering a range of topics, from strategic HR management to building effective relationships with top management. A key focus of the final module is on establishing trust-based partnerships with executives — positioning HR professionals as true business partners.

As a capstone project, participants are required to deliver a “Boardroom Pitch” — a personalized plan for building strategic relationships with senior leadership, which they can implement immediately after the course.

“This program is especially relevant in today’s labor market, where companies face a shortage of qualified professionals and must quickly adapt to evolving conditions. It offers unique tools that enable HR leaders not just to respond to challenges, but to become strategic partners, actively shaping corporate culture and driving sustainable business growth.”

Participants expressed enthusiastic feedback after the first module:

“…an intense and engaging module! I truly enjoyed the learning experience and gained a wealth of new and practical knowledge. Thanks to the organizers for their thoughtful guidance. Special appreciation for the dialogue-based format and excellent organization! The personal case studies made the content highly accessible and relatable. A rich and inspiring module — thank you to everyone involved!”

The program will run through June 2025. In the upcoming modules, participants will explore key trends in talent management, discuss how to implement innovation in HR processes, leverage digital tools effectively, and learn how to become part of the executive leadership team.
