"I love Russia, I have a Russian soul"
How I chose Russia and the HSE University
Before coming to live in Russia, I came here three times as a tourist. And each time I loved this country more and more. I was fascinated by its culture and history, as well as by its traditional values, which are in line with my own. In western countries, such traditional values are losing importance in society. These factors, as well as a Master's degree in my professional career, encouraged me to make this decision.
I researched online the best Master's programmes in Russia for international students, and HSE University's programmes stood out among them, so I decided to study here. I enjoyed my programme and had the opportunity to meet people from all over the world. Now I have friends from Syria, Peru and, of course, Russia. In general the learning process was not difficult, the most time-consuming part of the programme turned out to be the diploma project.
The language barrier was quite strong, although the teaching on my programme was in English. But in Mexico I studied Russian online for three years, and it helped me a lot both at university and in Russia in general. My language level improved significantly when I moved and started speaking Russian on a daily basis.
About the Latin American Chamber of Commerce in the Russian Federation
The Latin American Chamber of Commerce in the Russian Federation (CCLAR) is an independent non-profit organisation that promotes bilateral trade and investment between Latin American countries and the Russian Federation. I came up with the idea of creating it because of the global situation where some countries have decided not to trade with Russia, but other countries, such as Latin American countries, have opened their doors to Russia and are now considered friendly countries. In addition, the Russian Federation does not have a chamber of commerce of any Latin American country, and there is a need for such organisations. CCLAR's mission is to facilitate commercial exchange between Latin American countries and Russia by promoting the export and import of goods and services. And we also help to strengthen commercial and diplomatic relations by facilitating cooperation in various fields.
About plans for the future
My future is here in Russia. I will marry a beautiful Russian girl and will continue to develop the Chamber of Commerce, attracting new partners. I want to get Russian citizenship, as I love this country and I have a Russian soul.
