GSB Students Held the Third Round of the HSE Streetball League
On April 11, the third round of the 3x3 Streetball League was held, in which students of GSB, Faculty of Computer Science and other HSE faculties competed for the title of champions.
The organizers managed to create a friendly atmosphere of the competition, which was attended by 32 athletes from different faculties and departments of the Higher School of Economics. The participants received free products from sponsors, and the winners, who took 1st-3rd places, received special gifts from the partner company Solemate.
GSB Students are beginning to actively develop a sports community among students of the Higher School of Economics. The HSE Streetball League is organised by the "HSE 3x3" student initiative group, which received funding as part of the GSB Student Group Project Competition.
Pavel Ivanov, a 2nd-year ‘Business Administration’ student and leader of the ‘HSE 3x3’ student project, said:
We were happy to receive support for our initiative from the Graduate School of Business. We are finishing our first season and are delighted with what we have achieved: we have assembled teams, attracted partners, and are now working with sports venues.
The project team plans to continue popularising the sport amongst HSE students and alumni.
Anna Morozova, Director of the Centre for Project-based Learning, spoke in support of the development of this project:
Sport is one of the most important formats for engaging young people in active student life, building cohesive teams and fostering the right kind of competitive spirit. At Sberbank, for example, we have long had a corporate competition, which allows everyone to prove themselves from a new, not professional point of view. For example, I was once captain of the curling team and led my team to a winning place.
