Undergraduate and Master's Students of the HSE GSB Participated in the Winter School at the National School of Business Bangalore (NSB Bangalore)

The National School of Business (NSB) Bangalore is one of the leading private universities in India, a member of prestigious educational associations (AICTE, AIU). NSB holds high positions in national rankings (NIRF) and has a recognized reputation for the quality of training graduates in the field of management and business.
The NSB campus in the city of Bangalore was founded in 2001 as an innovative educational hub in the developed region of the "Indian Silicon Valley," at the heart of the technological and entrepreneurial cluster. Its mission is to be a guide for Indian and international students wishing to build a career in business and technology, and a platform for collaboration between education and industry in this dynamic region.
Over ten days of immersion in the program, participants gained a multifaceted experience at the intersection of business, technology, and culture. Instead of traditional lectures, the program offered live interaction with real cases and practices: from analyzing the rapid growth of local startups and cloud kitchens to studying operational processes at major manufacturing enterprises. A key part of the program were excursions into the heart of Indian industry and IT: students saw the inner workings of giants such as Infosys (one of the world's largest IT companies) and L&T Technologies (a company managing Smart City projects), and learned the intricacies of production at TVS Motors (one of India's largest manufacturers of motorcycles, scooters, and three-wheeled vehicles) and Jockey (one of the most recognizable and influential players in the apparel market). Special emphasis was placed on sustainable development and social responsibility – visits to the Akshaya Patra and Isha Foundations demonstrated how business models and spiritual values are integrated in India.
The program went far beyond the academic format: yoga sessions, a masterclass in traditional puppet theater, a visit to the Mysore Palace, and participation in a colorful laser show allowed participants not just to learn about the culture, but to feel it. This unique mix of educational and cultural activities created a holistic picture of modern India – a country of contrasts, opportunities, and openness to international dialogue.
Participants of the program, bachelor and master students of the GSB, shared their impressions:
"The autumn school at NSB Bangalore was a significant addition to my business education and an incredibly interesting and enriching student life experience. India revealed itself to me from a completely new perspective, proving to be a bright, diverse, utterly unique, and distinctly colorful country, which, despite all this, possesses a developed business environment worthy of study. Our delegation was received so warmly and caringly that it is hard to imagine more attentive treatment. All concerns about the country were dispelled, and the cities we visited turned out to be clean, safe, and comfortable for Europeans. Indian culture and communication with people – representatives of the companies we visited and students from the host university – so enriched my understanding of both India and the world as a whole. I am very grateful to the GSB for this opportunity and advise everyone to experience all the incredible emotions we felt in India." - Arina Komolyatova, 4th year, Marketing and Market Analytics (Bachelor).
"I would like to express my gratitude to NSB and the GSB for the opportunity to explore multifaceted India. This ten-day program exceeded all my expectations! These 10 days felt like a separate life. The program was packed with diverse activities, including visits to leading Indian companies, various cultural events, and discovering the beauty and charm of Indian urban and rural life. I would like to recommend that every student not miss this unique and valuable opportunity provided by NSB and the GSB, as it will undoubtedly become an incredible experience for you!" - Yulia Goncharova, 4th year, International Business (Bachelor).
"I had the incredible opportunity to visit India, where we got acquainted with Indian cities, industry, and cultural landmarks. It was an unforgettable experience: I learned a lot of valuable things, met inspiring people, and established new useful contacts. I look forward to applying the knowledge and experience gained during this trip to develop my own business in the future." - Nikita Lisunov, 2nd year, Electronic Business and Digital Innovations (Master).
"The autumn school was an intensive 10-day immersion into India for me. Thanks to the busy schedule, we visited numerous companies, learned about the development of innovation and startups in the country, and truly absorbed the local culture. I am incredibly grateful to the school for the unique opportunity to visit the IT company Infosys. I was truly impressed by its huge campus, spanning several hectares and employing more than 300,000 people. It was very interesting to learn about their strategic planning and use of artificial intelligence. I was also very impressed by their ESG initiatives. A huge thank you to the GSB and NSB Bangalore for this program!" - Anna Motevich, 2nd year, International Management (Master).
"This program became for our students not just an educational module, but a real training ground for developing key competencies of the future. The ability to understand global value chains using the example of TVS, mastering the nuances of marketing in complex markets, as PAGE Industries did for Jockey, and building cross-cultural communication – these are precisely the skills that cannot be acquired from textbooks alone. The deep immersion specifically in the Indian business context gives this experience particular significance. In the current geopolitical realities, India is one of Russia's key strategic partners. Understanding the logic, scale, and dynamics of this market, establishing personal contacts – this is not just an academic exercise, but the formation of a critically important professional asset for the future career growth of our students. Such experience fosters in them that very systemic, global thinking, without which effective work in the conditions of the new reality is impossible" - Anna Veselova, Associate Professor of the Department of Strategic and International Management, Director of the Center for Corporate Sustainability Management, Academic Supervisor of the Bachelor program in International Business.
