HSE Graduate School of Business completes Leadership Development Program for TMH

The training focused on developing essential competencies required for effective management in today’s business environment. Over the course of a year, 47 program participants studied strategic financial management, operational efficiency, change management, and team development. The curriculum also covered areas such as B2B and B2G marketing, decision-making under uncertainty, negotiation strategies, and implementing organizational change.

The educational journey included five learning modules, interim assessments, and a final defense of individual projects. Each participant demonstrated how they applied newly acquired knowledge to their management practices.

The program brought together the academic expertise of HSE GSB professors and the practical experience of TMH top managers. Leading instructors included:

  • Natalia Shishlakova, Deputy CEO for Corporate Development and Project Activities — Member of the TMH Management Board

  • Andrey Vasiliev, Deputy CEO for Operations — Member of the Management Board

  • Oleg Domsky, Deputy CEO for Finance and Economics — Member of the Management Board

  • Andrey Sheremetyev, Deputy CEO for Commercial Affairs — Member of the Management Board

  • Vladimir Chekalin, CEO of DMZ JSC

The final stage took place on May 16, when participants presented their projects to a commission composed of TMH top executives and HSE GSB faculty.

Our partnership with TMH is a prime example of effective collaboration between business and education. Working together on this program allowed us to create a unique educational product that not only builds managerial competencies but also directly supports the company’s strategic development. We see tremendous practical value in the program and the participants’ readiness to apply their knowledge in the field.

Natalia Shishlakova

Deputy CEO for Corporate Development and Project Activities — Member of the TMH Management Board

The ‘Key Reserve: Expanding Horizons for Growth’ program, implemented in partnership with HSE GSB, marked a major milestone in TMH’s systemic efforts to develop its leadership pipeline. Thanks to its practical orientation, participants gained hands-on tools in operational efficiency, strategic financial management, and team dynamics. These skills are already being used in projects to improve the quality of management decisions, increase process transparency, and align actions across the board.
Understanding the complex interplay between operational and managerial factors enables more mature and sustainable decisions. Having TMH’s senior executives involved as instructors, in collaboration with HSE GSB, played a critical role in achieving these results. The business school’s expertise, the flexibility of the program, and its deep immersion in TMH’s business realities made the course highly relevant and action-oriented.

The program incorporated best practices in executive leadership development, enabling participants not only to enhance key managerial skills but also to contribute to the future growth of the holding—Russia’s leading manufacturer of rolling stock.
