Celebrating the 5th Anniversary of the HSE Graduate School of Business Establishment

Dear colleagues,
Today marks the 5th anniversary of the HSE Academic Council’s approval, on April 24, 2020, of the Concept for the Establishment and Development of the Graduate School of Business. Based on this decision and the subsequent reorganization of 11 university divisions engaged in business education and research in management and business informatics, the Graduate School of Business was created and began its work on September 1, 2020.
Five years on, we now see numerous signs of a significant transformation in business education and related research at HSE University. It is symbolic that today also marks the release of the 2025 RAEX subject rankings, in which HSE University once again confirmed its leadership by taking 1st place in the field of Management among all universities in Russia!
Let me also remind you of some of the other major milestones:
- Our MBA program ranked 1st in Russia for the first time in 2024, according to the People's Choice by mba.su;
- In 2021, we achieved HSE's first EFMD accreditations, granted for five years to two of our undergraduate programs in Management;
- GSB was included for the first time in Group A among HSE faculties, based on performance indicators for 2023 and 2024;
- We created Russia’s first collection of analytical reports, our own teaching case collection, and the digest series "What’s New in Management";
- We launched a robust corporate ecosystem, which today includes 15 of the country’s leading companies.
And this is by no means an exhaustive list of the impressive achievements made possible by the dedication of our faculty, staff, students, executive learners, and alumni!
Today, I would like to sincerely thank the entire GSB team for your professionalism, your remarkable innovation, and your shared pursuit of excellence. These qualities define our University as a whole — and the Graduate School of Business has become an essential part of that identity.
We will celebrate the 5th anniversary of GSB in September 2025 with a series of special events.
