Operational Efficiency: A Strategic Priority for Every Company
Graduates of the first cohort of the “Operational Improvement Projects Accelerator” include managers from Uralkhim, Mars, Royal Canin, and the Financial Directorate of HSE University. Over the course of five months, participants worked on real projects within their organizations, each designed to achieve a significant transformation with an economic impact of at least 1 million rubles.
Academic Director of the Program, Associate Professor, Department of Operations Management and Logistics, HSE Graduate School of Business
“Improving operational efficiency is a key task for any company that aims not only to maintain its market position but to scale to a new level. Working with participants on their projects, we identify ‘pain points’ and explore ways to turn them into competitive advantages. Our goal is to deliver visible and tangible business impact from these improvement initiatives.”
“The program’s strength lies in its smart balance between theory and practice, with a strong emphasis on real-world cases. The sessions help refresh existing knowledge, while the new tools can be immediately applied in daily work,” shared Konstantin Makeev, Deputy Director for Economics and Operational Efficiency at the Voskresensk Branch of JSC “URALKHIM.”
The program was delivered by leading faculty of the HSE Graduate School of Business and guest practitioners from major Russian companies. One of its standout features was the gemba tours — site visits to industrial and service companies showcasing their operational improvement infrastructure.
Participants visited:
- The flagship plant of TechnoNICOL Corporation in Ryazan, a leading producer of building materials and systems;
- A FM Logistic warehouse complex in Chekhov;
- The largest packaging plant in Russia operated by Packaging Systems, producing materials for composite cardboard packaging used in beverages and dairy.
