Prospective students

  • Step  1:  Decide on the Programme

    Exchange programmes within partnership agreements

    Choose 1-3 applicable exchange programmes from the catalogue.

    When making your choice, refer to the recommendations in the Matrix of correspondence of GSB Partner Universities. 

    Check the application statistics of past mobility calls.

    Сheck the minimum GPA of students nominated to the partner universities.

    Freemovers

    Choose a university from the catalogue that offers to apply as a freemover or a non-HSE partner university.

    Contact the international admissions/international office of the university and enquire about the possibility of an exchange.

  • Step  2:  Plan your budget

    Before going on mobility it is important to calculate all financial costs and critically estimate your budget

    Plan your budget using information from Partner University Factsheet and Numbeo website. Tuition fees shall be waived at Partner Universities but all other costs incurred will be covered at the student’s own expense.

    Plan your budget using information from University website and Numbeo website. Freemovers cover all expenses, including tuition fees.

  • Step  3:  Prepare your Package of Documents

    Save all of your documents in a signle PDF file and name it using this example: Smith_John_(Programme name).pdf. Create an individual PDF file for each university you're applying to.

    Exchange programmes within partnership agreements

    1. Request for Exchange Programme

    Request has to be signed by the student and administration of the educational programme.

     The request must be emailed to the study office at least 10 days before the application deadline for the exchange programme participation.

    2. Proof of English Proficiency

    The following documents will be accepted (check course catalogue):

    • Official Language Certificate (for example TOEFL/IELTS (check other certificates validity in the language requirement section on a partner university website);
    • HSE Independent English Exam certificate (for BA students - a certificate which may be requested here, for MA students graduated from HSE - a scan of Diploma Supplement with HSE Independent English Exam grade;
    • Extracts from online grade books for BA students who have taken HSE Exam after the 1st year of studies;
    • Certificate of attendance for MA students who study fully of partically in English;
    • Results of "Linguotest" 
    • Another language proficiency document required by a partner university (check the catalogue).

    3. Motivation Letter

    Motivation Letter must be in English, appx. of 500 words.

    4. Recommendation Letter

    Recommendation Letter must be in English, written by your HSE professor, academic supervisor or programme head.

    5. CV

    Please, use the following CV template or your own template (in English)

    7. Preliminary Study Plan

    Prepare a Preliminary study plan and add it to your application package.

    Freemovers

    1. Notify the HSE study office of your decision to go on exchange and prepare the individual study plan.

    2. Prepare an application package and complete the application for the foreign university.

    3. Notify the GSB International Office that you are going on exchange.

    4. Prepare the package of documents for the mobility order

  • Step  4:  Apply

    Upload your documents:

    application form (standart deadline) before September 16, 23:59:00.

  • Step  5:  Wait for the results

    Exchange programmes within partnership agreements

    Within 3 weeks after the application deadline, you will receive an email to @edu.hse.ru with the information about the results.

  • Step  6:  Prepare a Preliminary Study Plan

    Exchange programmes within partnership agreements

    Prepare a Preliminary Study Plan for the university you were nominated to.

  • Step  7:  Departure

    Exchange programmes within partnership agreements

    Approve Individual Study Plan

    Within 10 working days after being nominated submit a draft version of individual study plan to the head of the educational programme. Submit signed and approved individual study plan to the International Office.
