Academic Calendar (2025-26)
!!! Undergraduate exchange students are not allowed to take graduate-level courses, and graduate students are not allowed to enroll in undergraduate-level courses.
Only nominated students for the fall semester will receive an email invitation to access the online application system in early September.
Students must complete the online application and send all required documents for a student visa by courier or registered mail no later than 12 October 2025.
An acceptance letter will be sent by email in November after all completed applications are received.
The College of Business will organize a mandatory orientation programme for incoming exchange students one week before the semester starts. Students are expected to arrive in Hong Kong on 5 January 2026 (Monday) to take part in the orientation events, which will be held from 6 to 9 January 2026.
Administrative Fees: 600HKD (appr. $77). After the visa application is approved, students must also pay an additional fee of HKD 230 directly to the Hong Kong Immigration Department.
Accommodation: CityU university offers but does not guarantee rooms in the student dormitories. You can apply for on-campus accommodation. Allocation will be done via a random lottery. If a student is not allocated a room, they should be prepared to find off-campus housing on their own. In October, CityU will provide students with a list of available off-campus options for reference.
Please note that only undergraduate students are eligible to apply for student residence.
Visa: A student can apply for a student visa independently or request the university to apply on their behalf. The e-visa will be sent by email.
Health Insurance: insurance must cover the entire period of stay at CityU, as well as expenses for repatriation.
