About the Department

Department of Operations Management and Logistics

The Department of Operational Management and Logistics was formed in 2020 when the Higher School of Business (HSE) was established through the reorganization of the Faculty of Business and Management (FBM) and a number of Higher School of Economics departments. The topics of operational management, supply chain management and logistics formed the substantive basis of DOMiL. The Department provides teaching of disciplines on these topics in bachelor's, master's, postgraduate, Higher School of Economics programs, as well as for the National Research University of Higher School of Economics in the format of miners and teachers for all university students.

The Department of Operations Management and Logistics brings together research and teaching staff, who are part of the following degree programmes of the Graduate School of Business:

Human Resources

The Departmentof Operational Management and Logistics has 21 full-time teachers (17 of them are full-time) and 16 guest teachers. Among the full-time teachers there are 5 doctors of sciences, 2 holders of PhD degrees and 6 candidates of sciences. DOMiL has 2 distinguished and 3 ordinary professors of the National Research University of Higher School of Economics. The average age of full–time teachers of the Department is 50 years old, and the invited teachers are 37 years old.

Research and Teaching-Methodology Outcomes

From 2019 to 2026 the Department has published the results of their research in such scientific journals of quartile 1 and 2 in specialized research areas as: International Journal of Integrated Supply Management, Transport and Telecommunications, International Journal of Production Research, Annals of Operations Research, Omega, Hunan Daxue Xuebao/Journal of Hunan University Natural Sciences. In addition, they have become the authors of chapters of books published by the world's leading scientific publishers – Elsevier, Springer, IOP Publishing. During this period, they also prepared books published at the Higher School of Economics "Digital Technologies in Logistics and Supply Chain Management", "Logistics and Supply Chain Management — a profession of the 21st century: an analytical review", "Management Practices in Russian Companies", "The role of renewable natural Resources in the sustainable economic development of Russia and the participating states CIS", as well as 3 training cases based on primary materials from Russian companies included in the collection of HSE cases.

Industry Expertise

Today the Department of Operations Management and Logistics consists of 17 Faculty members, 4 part-time Faculty members and 16 Visiting Lecturers. Among the Faculty 9 members chose Academic track, 5 members- Education track and 7 member- Practically oriented track.
