Intellectual property protection at the HSE University
As you know, HSE University has a large intellectual property portfolio, which includes trademarks, copyright objects and patents. Quite often we encounter misuse of HSE University trademarks and copyright objects by third parties. If you see on the Internet that someone is clearly misusing the intellectual property of HSE University, you can inform the Legal Department.
In order to protect the university's rights, a claim will have to be filed to stop the illegal use of HSE University's intellectual property.
How should you proceed?
- The first thing to do is to take a screenshot of the Internet site where you found the illegally posted intellectual property.
- Determine whether the misplaced object is a trademark, a logo or other copyrighted object (e.g. a video clip).
- Choose a suitable form from the Legal Directorate website (forms are available here) and try to fill it out as much as possible (or ask a coordinator to help you fill out the form).
- Identify to whom the claim should be sent. Contacts can be listed on the website where the intellectual property has been posted.
- Then send the draft claim to the Legal Department by email to: LegalDept@hse.ru.
