Dmitry Malov: "I have a principle — to finish what I started"

Dmitry Malov is a superfinalist of the presidential competition "Leaders of Russia", an open competition and a community of new generation leaders. A lecturer at the HSE Graduate School of Business answered questions from Andrey Sharomov, PR Director of the HSE Graduate School of Business, and spoke in an interview about the difficult competition, overcoming, motivation, inspiration and working with HSE students.

— "I learned about the competition a long time ago - then there was the first or second stream of the competition. I participated, but I successfully overcame only the first stage of selection — a questionnaire and a video business card, but I got excited during testing and did not pass further. But I have a principle: I always try to finish what I started, so this year I decided to participate again. It's important not to give up if something didn't work out the first time and, taking into account past mistakes, move on."

 

— "A thousand people participated in the semi-finals. We were divided into two streams of 500 people each. I was in the first stream, which was divided into 53 teams of 10 people each. And, accordingly, all in one space. You understand that you are being chosen from among these 500 people."

 

— "People are different, and a teacher, a mentor, must find an approach to everyone - therefore, the work of a teacher is not easy. But I really like to communicate with students and share my knowledge and experience with them. They have a fresh perspective on things. And I find out new jokes, again, they help me stay on the wave of time."

 

— "The University as a whole and HSE as a faculty with an emphasis on business is a special atmosphere: drive, energy, search for new things, immersion in practice from the first days, working with mentors from business, learning from cases — all this makes HSE the business school of the first choice, both for students and teachers".
