About the Department

The Department of Financial Management was established in 2020 in order to provide financial courses for educational programs of basic and additional professional education of the Higher School of Business. Unlike other HSE departments related to financial topics, the Financial Management Department is focused on creating courses for students and trainees of the educational programs of the specialty "Management" and "Business Informatics". The teachers of the department have created unique courses taught in full-time and online formats for all levels of education: from undergraduate to MBA and DBA, with the use of modern educational technologies.

The key courses taught by the department's teachers in all HSE undergraduate programs are:

- Financial and Management Accounting (2nd year)

- Financial management (2nd year)

Online courses have been created for Master's students in a short time: "Economics for Managers" and "Financial Management Accounting", which are highly popular among graduate students of all HSE faculties. The basic courses in the Master 's degree are:

- Financial management: financial analysis and new business models
- Corporate finance and financial analysis

In addition to the basic courses, the teachers of the department have developed courses for specialization: "Financial Management", the basis of the bachelor's degree program: "Business Management", as well as a number of specialized courses for the master's degree, including:

- Budgeting and integrated planning
- Venture and project financing
- Investment analysis, mergers and acquisitions
- Research methods in financial management
- Business valuation methods
- Payment systems. Introduction to Cryptocurrencies and Distributed Ledger Technologies
- Financial analysis and cost management
- Financial policy of the company
- IFRS financial statements and analysis

Teachers of the department actively participate in writing business cases and introduce them into the educational process, as well as engage in scientific and applied research in the field of finance and investment.
