The future of digital financial assets was discussed at the Graduate School of Business

The Graduate School of Business hosted a discussion forum “Financial Innovations for Business” on the topic “Digital financial assets - the best modern platform for crowdfunding and more?”.

Graduate School of Business hosted a forum that brought together over 300 participants, including leaders of Russian financial institutions, to discuss the prospects of the digital financial assets (DFA) market.
Opening the event, Dmitry Volkov, First Deputy Director of the Graduate School of Business, emphasized that today there are many interesting and sometimes contradictory processes developing in finance that require not only thorough research, but also discussion.
The key event of the forum was the presentation of an analytical report by the Graduate School of Business dedicated to crowdfunding as a tool for expanding investment opportunities and democratizing the financing of small and medium-sized businesses. Igor Tsarkov, Deputy Director of Graduate School of Business, presented the main conclusions of the report, which analyzed the motives for investing in SME shares through crowdfunding platforms, the associated risks, as well as the dependence of investment decisions on the characteristics of investors and campaigns.
The presentation of the report was followed by panel discussions where experts from Alfa-Bank, Sberbank, VTB and other leading organizations discussed the advantages of DFA compared to traditional instruments, opportunities for issuers and investors, the impact of DFA on the collective investment market and regulatory issues.
The forum participants expressed their opinion on the need to equalize taxation of DFA with traditional instruments and simplify regulation of professional market participants. In general, the forum became a platform for expert discussion of the prospects for the development of the DFA market and their role in crowdfunding, as well as for the exchange of views and experience between representatives of various sectors of the financial industry. The participants expressed their wish to hold similar events on a regular basis.
