On January 12 the GSB International Office held a webinar on ways to go on exchange as a freemover and also highlighted the opportunities of receiving third-party grants and scholarships for studying abroad.

GSB students may go on exchange not only by participating in the mobility call at GSB but also on their own, as freemovers. 

Freemovers are HSE students participating in a long-term international academic mobility programme at a host institution that is not a partner of HSE. You may check the partnerships in HSE and GSB catalogues:

How to go on exchange as a freemover?  

  • Choose a non-HSE partner university and a programme;
  • Contact the international admissions/international office of the university and enquire about the possibility of an exchange;
  • Notify the HSE study office of your decision to go on exchange and prepare the Individual Study Plan;
  • Prepare an application package and complete the application;
  • Notify the GSB International Office that you are going on exchange;
  • Prepare the package of documents for the mobility order; 
  • Apply for a visa;
  • Go to the university.

 Grants and scholarships

In addition to the exchange programmes offered by the GSB and HSE, students can apply to one of the national student exchange programmes. More details can be found on our website, section "National student exchange programmes".
