HHL Leipzig Graduate School of Management

HHL Leipzig Graduate School of Management is a private business school, one of the oldest in the world. HHL was the first and remains one of the few schools in Germany to receive an international institutional accreditation AACSB.

What is important to know?

Educational programme: GSB MIM students may be admitted to either MSc Management or MBA at HHL. Students are expected to take 60 ECTS credits at HHL.

Programme duration: Two semesters. GSB students may participate in the programme in 2nd and 3rd semesters or in 3rd and 4th semesters. At HHL, studies at MSc Management programme may start either in the beginning of September or in the beginning of April; studies at MBA start in January (beginning of September or April - upon request).

Prerequisites: To be elligible for the HHL MSc Management programme, GSB students must have a Bachelor degree in Business or Economics and at least some working experience (e.g. interships). To be elligible for HHL MBA, GSB students must have a Bachelor degree in any area and at least three years of working experience in any field.

Internship: An internship is not compulsory in order to receive a diploma from HHL, however students must complete an internship to receive a diploma from HSE University.

Master's Thesis: GSB students prepare and defend a master's thesis at HSE University.

Administrative Fees: None.

Tuition fees: GSB students do not pay tuition at the HHL.

Accommodation: Student dormitories (apply through the Student Union directly) or private housing.

How to apply?

1. Prepare a package of documents

  • Request for DD Programme has to be signed by the student and administration of the educational programme.
  • Certified translation of the undergraduate diploma of previous education or the European Diploma Supplement.
  • Letter of motivation in English (approx. 500 words)
  • CV in English
  • IELTS/TOEFL Certificate
  • GMAT Certificate
  • Confirmation of international experience (if any)
  • Two recommendation letters from the place of study
  • Recommendation letter from the place of work (if available)
  • Evidence of extracurricular activities (case championships, hacathons, volunteering, etc.).

2. Apply

Before September 24, fill in the online application here and attach the package of documents.

3. Wait for Results

Selection Criteria for extracurricular activities are the same as for the scholarship (please mind, however, that we do not offer GSB scholarships for the Double Degree Programmes. 

Based on each student's calculated final grade, the International Office ranks all students in descending order of final grade and submits this ranking to the GSB committee.
