Veronika Kabalina’s Interview on Professional Burnout in RBC+ Magazine

Veronika I. Kabalina, Research Professor at the Department of Organisational Behaviour and Human Resource Management, gave an expert interview to  RBC+ magazine, “The Economics of Stability: How to Tame ‘Black Swans’.”

Veronika Kabalina’s Interview on Professional Burnout in RBC+ Magazine

The interview, titled “Burning Bright Without Burning Out,” examines the nature of professional burnout, its key causes, and approaches to preventing emotional exhaustion among employees and managers. It is noted that burnout is often associated with a mismatch between job demands and individual capabilities, as well as with organisational factors such as workload distribution, management practices, and corporate culture.

Veronika Kabalina emphasises the importance of creating a balanced work environment, aligning tasks with employees’ competencies, and developing practices that foster resilience and engagement. Particular attention is given to the role of managers in the timely identification of burnout symptoms and in creating conditions that support employee well-being.

The full text of the interview is available in the electronic version of the magazine (pp. 150–151): https://businessandpoint.ru/rbc+_03_2026/
