The staff of the Department of Operational Management and Logistics at the Higher School of Business became winners of the educational innovation competition of the Educational Innovations Fund program at HSE University.

The staff of the Department of Operational Management and Logistics at the Higher School of Business became winners of the educational innovation competition of the Educational Innovations Fund program at HSE University.

Maxim Rozhkov stated:
"This development presents a methodology for using computer simulation to study the fundamentals of logistics and supply chain management. The game is closely aligned with real tasks faced by professionals involved in inventory management processes in manufacturing and retail companies. The main difference from real supply planning and order placement systems lies in the volume of information transmitted by participants in the supply chain.

The development is based on the 'MIT Beer Supply Chain Game,' which is often used to study the dynamics of supply chains. However, the presented solution is not a copy; it complements and expands the original version while leveraging the advantages offered by computer simulation. This solution is significant in the context of applying digital technologies, which are increasingly being integrated into company operations. Additionally, this experience is quite unique for students in the course, allowing them to better grasp the materials covered."

The development is applied in several courses of the educational programs at the Higher School of Business, including: "Logistics and Supply Chain Management," "Supply Management," minor "Logistics," and "Management of Digital Supply Chains." Furthermore, a research project on the application of artificial intelligence in supply chain management is being implemented as a continuation of this development, led by Maxim.

Natalia Alyamovskaya, Senior Lecturer at the Department of Operational Management and Logistics at the Higher School of Business, HSE University, also became one of the winners of the competition in the open nomination with her development titled "A Reflection Toolkit for Enhancing Students' Educational Experience," marking her sixth win in the competition.

Natalia Alyamovskaya noted:
"This development represents a methodology for using reflections in the educational process for students and teachers. Reflection is a crucial stage of learning without which it does not occur. The development aims to enhance student engagement and motivation, develop meta-educational skills—particularly critical thinking and reflection abilities—which is an important task for the university in terms of improving students' evaluations of teaching (SET).

Moreover, using elements from the reflection toolkit allows students to better master the skills and knowledge embedded in the course through content-based questions in reflections, thereby speeding up the feedback cycle. From a teacher's perspective, the toolkit adapts instructional tools effectively for creating a conducive working atmosphere in the course. The advantage of this development lies in its variety of elements, allowing each teacher to select components suitable for their course and adapt their application concerning the number of components, assessment systems, etc."

This development is applied in several courses of the educational programs at the Higher School of Business, including: "Digital Literacy," "Logistics and Supply Chain Management," minor "Logistics," and "Customer Service Management in Supply Chains."

The competitions of the "Educational Innovations Fund" program provide a unique opportunity for educators to present their methodological developments. The educational innovations competition is held twice a year: in spring and autumn. Approximately one hundred applications participate annually.
