HSE University and Fudan University Launch Double Degree Programme
The agreement was signed by Nikita Anisimov, Rector of HSE University, and Jin Li, President of Fudan University. The programme will be delivered through the English-taught Master in International Management programme at HSE Graduate School of Business.
The programme prepares specialists for careers in international companies and focuses on contemporary business practices, digital transformation, and the global economy. The programme is taught entirely in English and includes international student mobility, offering immersion in the management practices of leading foreign companies. This enables students to gain international experience and learn to work in a multicultural environment.
The curriculum is built around key areas such as global strategies and operations, digital transformation and new business models, as well as sustainable and responsible management practices. Special emphasis is placed on Asia: students study the specifics of doing business in China, intercultural communication, and the distinctive features of business practices across Asian countries.
Fudan University is one of the leading universities in China and Asia, founded in 1905. It ranks among the world’s top universities according to the QS World University Rankings, Times Higher Education, and ARWU. Fudan’s School of Economics, which will work with HSE’s Graduate School of Business to train master’s students, is regarded as one of China’s leading centres for business education.

The double degree agreement will allow five students from the International Management programme to spend their second year of study in China and receive a prestigious degree from one of the world’s leading universities. Fudan University’s International Business programme is closely aligned with the HSE Graduate School of Business programme in terms of content, while the second year of study in China will provide students with a distinctive specialisation: alongside courses comparable to those offered at HSE GSB, students will study Chinese and take an advanced course on the Chinese economy. Students will also be required to prepare and defend two master’s dissertations under the supervision of two academic supervisors — one at Fudan University and one at HSE Graduate School of Business. This demanding curriculum will clearly require considerable commitment from students, and the entry requirements for first-year applicants will be very high.
The launch of the double degree programme with Fudan University marks an important stage in the development of HSE Graduate School of Business’s international educational partnerships. The partnership will bring together the expertise of two leading universities in Russia and China and train specialists capable of working effectively in international markets and amid strengthening Russian-Chinese cooperation.
