HSE GSB Student Presents Research on AI Adoption at AIEI 2026 International Conference

With the support of the HSE Graduate School of Business, Arseny Moshninov, a student on the Master’s programme in Electronic Business and Digital Innovations, presented his research at AIEI 2026, International Conference on Artificial Intelligence in Energy and Infrastructure. The conference took place on 13–15 May in Da Nang, Vietnam and brought together participants from France, Norway, China, Vietnam and other Asian countries.

At the conference, Arseny presented the preliminary findings of his research into the development of a method and system for assessing the adoption of AI technologies in companies. The study also examined how organisational and technological factors affect the success of AI implementation. The research was based on real-life cases from international fintech companies using both traditional machine learning models and advanced technologies such as large language models (LLMs) and agentic AI systems.

One of the key findings was that the use of generative AI or large language models does not, in itself, guarantee a high level of system autonomy or efficiency. The results showed that successful AI adoption depends not only on the quality of the model but also on how deeply the technology is integrated into business processes, how control and error-handling mechanisms are organised, how employees are trained, and how interaction between people and AI systems is designed.

The conference also featured a prototype analytical tool designed to provide a structured assessment of AI implementations and evaluate their level of maturity. The work attracted strong interest from participants. The audience actively discussed the practical application of the methodology, the future development of agentic AI solutions and approaches to implementing artificial intelligence as part of a broader organisational transformation.

For me, it was particularly important to emphasise that artificial intelligence today is not only about technologies or models. It is also about effective management, process architecture, accountability and how people interact with AI systems. People and management decisions remain at the centre. I am very grateful to the HSE Graduate School of Business for its support and for the opportunity to present my research internationally. In my view, projects like this matter not only for the academic community, but also for business. They help companies understand how to adopt AI safely, effectively and with real practical value, rather than simply following a technology trend.

The interim research findings presented at the conference form part of a wider research project supported by the HSE Graduate School of Business: “AI and Data Transform Business Systems: Mechanisms, Architecture, and Signals” (AI-Business). Within this project, we study artificial intelligence technologies and their impact on business from several perspectives. Exchanging experience with international colleagues is essential for conducting research at the frontier of science. Academic conferences provide an opportunity not only to present findings, but also to help shape the international research agenda in artificial intelligence.
