HSE Graduate School of Business Expands Global Educational Partnerships

The programme Understanding Business Dynamics in Southeast Asia forms part of HSE GSB’s efforts to develop international academic mobility. It also continues the school’s work to expand educational cooperation with countries of the Global South. Sasin School of Management at Chulalongkorn University is widely regarded as one of the finest business schools in the Asia-Pacific region. It holds prestigious AACSB and EQUIS accreditations. Sasin also ranks in the global top 100 of the Financial Times for both its Executive MBA and Global MBA programmes.

The intensive combined lectures, discussions, teamwork and company visits. HSE GSB students explored innovation-driven business development, consumer behaviour, digital transformation in the age of artificial intelligence and approaches to sustainable management. A dedicated part of the programme focused on the key challenges facing Thailand’s economy, including demographic change, technological transformation and climate risks.

Company visits to OCD and MuvMi provided a valuable practical dimension to the programme. Both companies operate at the intersection of technology, urban infrastructure and digital transformation. OCD develops AI solutions for business, while MuvMi is modernising Thailand’s traditional tuk-tuk transport by integrating it into a contemporary electric urban mobility system.

The programme concluded with final project presentations. Students developed market entry strategies for Russian companies seeking to expand into Thailand. An expert panel comprising Sasin School of Management faculty members commended the high standard of the students’ proposals. The panel highlighted not only the depth of the students’ analysis, but also the relevance of the business areas they selected for the Thai market. These included agribusiness, public transport, healthcare and education.

Today, international mobility is no longer simply about exchanging experience. It is an essential part of preparing managers who can operate in a global context. For HSE GSB, it is crucial to give students access to new markets, introduce them to practices from fast-growing economies and help them understand how global business is changing. Countries of the Global South are becoming increasingly important partners for Russia. Such programmes provide students with first-hand insight into these developments.

Thailand has become the fifth Global South destination explored by HSE GSB students through the school’s international education initiatives. Such programmes give participants hands-on experience of working with international markets. They also help students develop a deeper understanding of how business evolves in a changing global economy.
