Shaping the Future: International House Tashkent Students Visit HSE Graduate School of Business

The HSE Graduate School of Business recently welcomed prospective undergraduates from the Academic Lyceum "International House Tashkent". The Lyceum has been a key partner of the Higher School of Economics for five years. A group of 34 lyceum students visited the Shabolovka campus. During the visit, they explored the educational opportunities at HSE GSB and learnt about the unique features of its undergraduate programmes.

Shaping the Future: International House Tashkent Students Visit HSE Graduate School of Business

Academic supervisors of the "International Business", "Business Administration", "Marketing and Market Analytics" and "Digital Product Management" programmes outlined the curriculum, the key skills developed during the courses and potential career paths for graduates. The speakers emphasised how the programmes are tailored to meet modern market needs. The curriculum is directly shaped by modern business practices. Classes are taught by active industry professionals and renowned experts. The students also learnt about GSB’s interdisciplinary approach. This method helps students gain deep expertise in their chosen field while building a comprehensive understanding of business processes and developing a wide range of practical skills.

In an open Q&A session, the students spoked directly with academic programme directors Tatiana Arkhipova, Anna Veselova, Kliment Gorchakov, and Dmitry Knatko. The wide-ranging discussion addressed key questions, such as the relationship between modern marketing and digital product management and whether modern management is exclusively focused on the service sector. The session also highlighted the specific competencies most sought after in today’s dynamic business environment.

The second half of the visit was highly interactive. Students took part in a team business game run by undergraduates from the Business Administration programme. This allowed the visitors to step into the role of strategic decision-makers and experience HSE GSB’s hands-on teaching style first-hand. Speaking face-to-face with current undergraduates proved invaluable for the lyceum pupils as they map out their academic futures. The International House Tashkent students noted the high standards and intensity of the programmes — a challenge that earned their respect and boosted their motivation to apply.
