HSE Graduate School of Business and Tsinghua University School of Economics and Management Launch Academic Partnership

The Tsinghua University School of Economics and Management is widely recognized as a leader in business education in Asia. It was the first business school in mainland China to receive both AACSB and EQUIS accreditations. The school consistently ranks highly in global rankings: in 2025, its Master’s in Management program ranked 4th in the world and 1st in Asia in the Financial Times ranking.
HSE GSB’s collaboration with Tsinghua SEM started in fall 2024, when a GSB delegation attended the annual conference of the Association of Asia-Pacific Business Schools (AAPBS) hosted by Tsinghua SEM.In fall 2025, 70 participants from the HSE Graduate School of Business MBA program studied at Tsinghua SEM as part of an international study module focused on business development through innovation. Participants discussed how new technologies are reshaping corporate structures and visited Chinese companies working in robotics and renewable energy.
The new agreement with Tsinghua SEM takes cooperation between the two business schools to the next level and opens new opportunities for student mobility. Students will now be able to take part in exchange programs and study at one of Asia’s leading universities. The agreement also provides for mobility opportunities for faculty and administrative staff as well as the development of joint education and research projects.

Signing an agreement with the Tsinghua University School of Economics and Management —one of the most respected business schools in Asia and the world—is an important achievement for us and confirms the international standing of HSE Graduate School of Business. This partnership creates fundamentally new opportunities for academic exchange: our students and program participants will be able to study at a leading university in China, gain experience in a different business and cultural environment and broaden their professional horizons.
HSE has established strong partnerships with Tsinghua University and carries out joint projects. Notably, during Chinese President Xi Jinping’s official visit to Moscow on May 8, 2025, an agreement was signed to expand academic, cultural, and educational collaboration. In September, HSE and Tsinghua signed an agreement to develop joint projects in biologyfrom molecular and computational neuroscience to AI-driven big data analysis. This includes forming research groups, preparing scientific publications, organizing internships for undergraduate and graduate students and holding research and educational events. In July, HSE hosted young researchers from Tsinghua University. They attended a lecture on AI developments at the Computer Science Department and led masterclasses for HSE students as part of Chinese Culture Day.
