HSE GSB MBA Students Complete International Module at Tsinghua University
70 MBA students studied the cultural and infrastructural aspects of doing business in China, strategies for marketing innovative products, product development and innovation strategies, venture financing, organizational design of the companies of the future, the role of AI in business and specific approaches to entering the Chinese market. During the week, top managers and business leaders from Russia examined how venture mechanisms work, how the innovation ecosystem is built, and why Chinese companies grow at such remarkable speed.
Together with leading Tsinghua faculty, participants discussed cultural approaches to business, the role of government and investors, and the innovative mindset that drives China’s technological success. Students analyzed how technologies are reshaping corporate structures, the tasks AI agents can perform, and how companies adjust employee motivation systems in this new environment.
The rapid success of Chinese business and the economy is the result of a systematic approach, not chance. The key to Chinese companies’ success is a unique entrepreneurial mindset. They use a venture approach: launching multiple brands to quickly test the market through trial and error and implement changes at high speed. MBA education must keep pace with these trends. Our module at Tsinghua University focused on venture financing, rapid product launch, and AI-driven organizations. HSE Graduate School of Business will continue its collaboration with Tsinghua University without a doubt," – Vladimir Koptsev, Director of the Center for MBA Programmes. All participants received certificates for completing the 40-hour program. They highlighted the module’s usefulness, depth, and high quality.
HSE has established strong partnerships with Tsinghua University and carries out joint projects. Notably, during Chinese President Xi Jinping’s official visit to Moscow on May 8, 2025, an agreement was signed to expand academic, cultural, and educational collaboration. In September, HSE and Tsinghua signed an agreement to develop joint projects in biologyfrom molecular and computational neuroscience to AI-driven big data analysis. This includes forming research groups, preparing scientific publications, organizing internships for undergraduate and graduate students and holding research and educational events. In July, HSE hosted young researchers from Tsinghua University. They attended a lecture on AI developments at the Computer Science Department and led masterclasses for HSE students as part of Chinese Culture Day.
