HSE Graduate School of Business Signs Cooperation Agreement with Thailand’s Leading Business School

Bangkok, October 29 – The HSE Graduate School of Business has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Sasin School of Management at Chulalongkorn University, Thailand’s leading business school. The agreement focuses on joint research and educational projects in the field of management. The memorandum was signed by Valeriy Katkalo, Director of the HSE Graduate School of Business and Ian Fenwick, Director of Sasin School of Management. The signing ceremony was held in the presence of Evgeny Tomikhin, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Russian Federation to Thailand.

Founded in 1982, Sasin School of Management was the first business school in Thailand to receive international accreditation from AACSB and EQUIS. It is also the first and only Thai business school included in the Financial Times Executive MBA Top 100 2025 ranking. The partnership between the HSE Graduate School of Business and Sasin School of Management aims to strengthen MBA programs, promote joint research, support academic mobility for students and faculty, and develop educational initiatives for Russian and Thai managers and entrepreneurs.

The Memorandum of Understanding between the HSE Graduate School of Business and Sasin School of Management is of strategic importance for cooperation between two leading business schools in Russia and Thailand. Both schools are part of major research universities in their countries. They focus on the development of MBA and DBA programs and deliver executive education for leaders of large national companies. It is important to mention that both schools are also leaders in building case study collections based on local business practices. This cooperation is expected to make a meaningful contribution to the expansion of Russian–Thai trade and economic relations. 

The signing took place on the sidelines of the 2nd Asia-Pacific Responsible Research in Business and Management Summit (RRBMS) on October 29 and the annual conference of the Association of Asia-Pacific Business Schools (AAPBS), held from October 30 to November 2. The HSE Graduate School of Business is a member of AAPBS. The HSE delegation included Valeriy Katkalo, Director; Ivan Prostakov, Deputy Director; and Lyudmila Veselova, Director of the Center for Asian Business and Management Research.

During the Responsible Research Summit, Valeriy Katkalo also participated in a panel discussion on the development of international accreditations and rankings for business schools. The discussion focused on accreditation methodologies and business school ranking practices in the current global context, with participation from leading business education associations, including EFMD and AACSB.
