X5 Career Day at HSE GSB brought together students and retail experts

For an entire day, HSE GSB classrooms turned into a space for networking, practice, and knowledge exchange. Students took part in business games, master classes, lectures, and career consultations organized by teams from X5’s leading brands.
The event opened with a business game from Pyaterochka, where participants explored the nuances of retail trade, learning how to make decisions and work effectively in teams. Then X5 Import engaged students in the board game Crossdock — an exciting simulator of international logistics. Afterward, Perekrestok experts shared career advice and insights into management work.
In the dedicated X5-branded classroom, participants learned about the history and concept of the Chizhik brand, discussed product placement strategies, took part in a quiz, received personalized career recommendations, and joined a workshop on AI technologies.
In the lobby, guests could enjoy a photo zone and interactive activities, participate in quizzes, and receive promo codes and branded merchandise.
Career Day became another step in strengthening the partnership between HSE GSB and X5 Group. For over three years, X5 has been a strategic partner of the business school, actively involved in the educational process and serving as an employer for young specialists. The joint Master’s program Managing B2C Business: Technologies and Innovations prepares future leaders in retail and e-commerce, combining academic courses with practice and real cases. X5 top managers deliver lectures and workshops, supervise student project work, and invite students for internships. In addition, the company annually provides scholarships for talented applicants to the program, supporting those who aspire to build careers in this fast-growing sector.

X5 Career Day is not just a meeting of students with industry experts, but also a unique opportunity to understand how real business operates, to try one’s hand at solving practical problems, and to receive feedback from professionals. We believe that such experiences help students make conscious career choices, develop essential skills, and build their own professional growth trajectory. For HSE GSB, it is extremely important that our partners not only share knowledge but also engage students directly in real business processes — this is exactly what provides a competitive edge on the labor market today.

Career Day was an excellent opportunity to immerse oneself in real business tasks and to understand the specifics of retail — one of the most technological and promising industries for young professionals today. X5 offers more than 300 professions, ranging from store management and logistics to Big Data and artificial intelligence. Every seventh employee in our company is under 25, and we are confident in inviting graduates to join our team.
The event gave HSE GSB students not only practical skills but also energy, new connections, and confidence in their abilities. On this day, every participant was able to try themselves in a leadership role and receive valuable advice from industry professionals.
